Opacifiers are applied in a wide variety of products, usually in formulations containing anionic surfactants, the majority of detergent and personal care products such as shampoos, bath gels and liquid soaps.
Due to their high effectiveness, they are used at low concentrations between 0.1-1%.
It can be added at any point of the formulation and, unlike classical opacifiers, it can be added directly to the formulation, without preparation a prior dilution.
It is added to transparent or translucent cosmetic products to make them more impenetrable by light and radiation.
It helps the final product to look better, so sometimes a dye is also added.
1- It provides a creamy, dense and uniform texture effect.
2- It provides an excellent stability to the formulated product.
3- Stable in a wide range of pH (5-12) aprox.
